Turn Off Diagnostic Data Sharing in macOS 13

By default, macOS 13 Ventura collects diagnostic and usage information to help Apple improve its operating system and services. If you prioritize privacy or want to limit background data transmission, you can completely turn off these reporting features. This guide walks you through the exact steps to stop sharing Mac analytics, crash data, and developer metrics directly from your System Settings.

Steps to Disable Diagnostics and Analytics

  1. Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select System Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the left-hand sidebar, scroll down and click Privacy & Security.
  4. In the right-hand panel, scroll down to the bottom section and click on Analytics & Improvements.
  5. Toggle off the switch next to Share Mac Analytics. If prompted, enter your administrator password or use Touch ID to confirm the change.
  6. Toggle off Share with app developers to prevent crash reports and usage statistics from reaching third-party software makers.
  7. Toggle off Improve Siri & Dictation if you do not want your audio interactions stored and reviewed by Apple.

Once these toggles are switched off, macOS 13 will immediately stop collecting and transmitting diagnostic, usage, and performance logs to Apple servers.
