How to Copy and Paste Photo Edits in iOS 16
Apple's iOS 16 introduces a native batch-editing tool that allows you to copy adjustments from one image and apply them across several others instantly. This guide walks you through the exact steps to edit a photo, copy those visual tweaks, and apply them across multiple images simultaneously in the Photos app.
Step 1: Edit the Source Photo and Copy the Changes
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone running iOS 16 or later.
- Select the image you want to use as your template and tap Edit in the top-right corner.
- Make your desired adjustments (such as exposure, contrast, saturation, or filters) and tap Done in the bottom-right corner to save.
- With the photo still open, tap the three dots inside a circle in the top-right corner.
- Tap Copy Edits from the menu. The adjustments are now saved to your clipboard.
Step 2: Paste the Edits to Multiple Photos
- Tap the back arrow in the top-left corner to return to your album or photo library grid.
- Tap Select in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap each photo you want to apply the edits to. A blue checkmark will appear on each selected item.
- Tap the three dots inside a circle in the bottom-right corner.
- Select Paste Edits.
A progress indicator will appear briefly while iOS applies the adjustments. Once complete, all selected photos will match the color and lighting adjustments of your original image.
How to Revert the Edits
If you want to remove the pasted edits from the batch:
- Tap Select in the top-right corner of the library.
- Choose the photos you want to restore.
- Tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner.
- Select Revert to Original.
