How to Restrict Home Screen Pages in iOS 15 Focus

With iOS 15, Apple expanded device customization by integrating Focus profiles directly with the Home Screen. This feature allows users to silence notifications and hide irrelevant or distracting app pages depending on what they are doing. This guide outlines the exact settings used to restrict your visible Home Screen pages to only those dedicated to a specific Focus profile, such as Work, Personal, or Fitness.

The Feature: Focus Custom Pages

The key setting responsible for this functionality is the Custom Pages option located inside each individual Focus configuration. When enabled, it overrides the default layout and displays only the pre-selected Home Screen pages, completely hiding any other pages while that specific Focus mode remains active.

How to Restrict Home Screen Pages

To configure Home Screen page restrictions for an active Focus profile, follow these steps:

  1. Organize Your Home Screen: Ensure your apps and widgets are organized onto distinct pages (for example, keeping work-related tools on one page and social media on another).
  2. Open Settings: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 15.
  3. Select Focus: Tap Focus, then select the profile you want to customize (such as Work, Personal, or a custom profile).
  4. Access Home Screen Options: Under the Options section, tap Home Screen.
  5. Enable Custom Pages: Turn on the toggle switch for Custom Pages.
  6. Select Allowed Pages: A view of all your existing Home Screen pages will appear. Tap the checkmarks underneath the specific pages you want visible during this Focus mode.
  7. Confirm Selection: Tap Done in the top-right corner to save your changes.

Additional Home Screen Focus Settings

Within the same Home Screen settings menu, Apple also included the Hide Notification Badges toggle. Enabling this setting hides the red notification counters from app icons on your visible pages while the Focus profile is on, further minimizing visual clutter and distractions.

Once configured, your Home Screen will automatically adapt whenever the Focus profile turns on—whether activated manually through Control Center or automated by time, location, or app triggers. When the Focus profile is turned off, your standard Home Screen layout returns immediately.
