How to Use Cloud Comments in CorelDRAW
CorelDRAW enables seamless design collaboration by allowing teams and clients to review, annotate, and approve artwork directly in the cloud. By saving files to Corel Cloud, designers can gather feedback in real time through the Comments docker/inspector without leaving the application. This guide outlines the straightforward process of sharing your designs, collecting annotations from stakeholders, and managing feedback directly within your CorelDRAW workspace.
1. Save and Share the File to the Cloud
To begin collaborating, you must host your document in Corel Cloud so reviewers can access it.
- Open your project in CorelDRAW.
- Go to File > Save to Cloud (or select the cloud icon in the toolbar).
- Once saved, click File > Share (or click the Share button in the top-right corner of the window).
- In the Share dialog, enter the email addresses of your collaborators or choose to generate a public, shareable link.
- Set the access permissions (e.g., Reviewer allows commenting, while Viewer provides read-only access).
- Click Send or copy the link to distribute.
2. How Collaborators Review the Design
Collaborators do not need a full CorelDRAW license or desktop installation to provide feedback; they can use any modern web browser via CorelDRAW.app.
- Stakeholders open the shared link in their web browser.
- They sign in using a Corel account or enter their name as a guest (if guest access was permitted during sharing).
- Using the toolbar in CorelDRAW.app, reviewers can access annotation
tools, such as:
- Note Tool: Drops a pin on a specific element to add a targeted note.
- Arrow and Line Tools: Points directly to specific design elements that need adjustment.
- Freehand and Rectangle Tools: Highlights or circles areas requiring changes.
- Reviewers type their comments in the comment panel and click Post.
3. Review and Respond to Comments in CorelDRAW
As feedback is added via the web app, it syncs back to your desktop application in real time.
- In CorelDRAW on your desktop, open the Comments docker by navigating to Window > Dockers > Comments (or Window > Inspectors > Comments on macOS).
- The docker lists all feedback chronologically or by status. Clicking any comment in the docker automatically highlights and centers the corresponding visual mark on your canvas.
- Type directly into the reply field beneath a comment to answer questions or request clarification.
- Once you apply the required design changes, click the checkmark or the options menu next to the comment and select Resolve. This hides or archives the note, keeping your active workspace clear of resolved issues.
