How to Set Overlap for Tiled Printing in CorelDRAW
When printing oversized graphics across multiple standard sheets of paper, setting an overlap ensures you can seamlessly trim and align the final assembled piece without visible seams or gaps. CorelDRAW includes built-in print tiling tools that allow you to divide large artwork into smaller sections and define exact overlap measurements. This guide details how to enable tiled output and configure overlap margins directly within the CorelDRAW Print dialog.
Step 1: Open the Print Settings
- Open your document in CorelDRAW.
- Go to the menu bar and click File > Print, or press the shortcut Ctrl + P (Windows) or Cmd + P (Mac).
- In the Print dialog box, select your target printer and paper size from the General tab.
Step 2: Enable Tiled Pages
- In the Print dialog, click on the Layout tab located at the top.
- Under the layout options, find the Print tiled pages checkbox.
- Check the box next to Print tiled pages. Once checked, the tiling options below it will become active.
Step 3: Configure Tile Overlap
- Locate the Tile overlap setting within the same panel.
- Enter your desired overlap value (for example,
0.5 inchesor12 mm). This value duplicates a strip of the artwork along the edges where individual sheets meet, giving you a buffer for trimming and gluing. - Optionally, enable the Print tiling marks checkbox. This prints alignment guides along the borders of the overlap zone, making it significantly easier to register adjacent tiles precisely during assembly.
Step 4: Preview the Tiles
- Click the Print Preview button (the magnifying glass icon or button at the bottom of the Print window).
- Use the preview controls to inspect how the artwork divides across the individual pages and verify that the overlap margin covers the intended area.
- If the layout requires adjustment, close the preview, return to the Layout tab, and modify the overlap dimension.
Step 5: Print
Once the overlap and page layout appear correct in the preview, click Print to output your tiled project.
