How to Search Content Libraries in CorelCONNECT
CorelCONNECT is a built-in browser and organizer that allows CorelDRAW users to quickly locate, preview, and manage design assets. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on accessing CorelCONNECT, navigating local and online content libraries, applying search filters, and importing assets directly into your active design projects.
Step 1: Open CorelCONNECT
You can access CorelCONNECT either as a docker inside CorelDRAW or as a standalone application.
- Inside CorelDRAW: Navigate to Window > Dockers > CONNECT (or Connect Content, depending on your CorelDRAW version) to open the panel on the right side of your workspace.
- Standalone Application: Launch CorelCONNECT directly from your Windows Start menu or the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite program folder.
Step 2: Select Your Content Source
Before running a search, choose where you want CorelCONNECT to look for assets:
- In the Libraries or Folders pane, expand the available directories.
- Choose Corel Content (or Get More) to browse official Corel clipart, photos, fonts, and fills included with your subscription or license.
- Choose Local and Network Folders to search your hard drive, external drives, or local network shares for your own design assets.
Step 3: Enter Search Keywords
Locate the Search bar at the top of the CorelCONNECT window or docker:
- Type a descriptive keyword related to the asset you need (such as floral, business card, vintage, or abstract).
- Press Enter to run the search across the selected library or folder.
Step 4: Filter Search Results
To narrow down large libraries of content, use the content filter buttons located near the search bar:
- Vector Graphics: Limits results to vector clipart
and curves (such as
.cdr,.eps,.ai, or.svg). - Bitmaps: Displays raster images and photos (such as
.jpg,.png, or.tif). - Fonts: Displays typography files available for preview and installation.
- Fills and Templates: Filters results to show pattern fills, fountain fills, or pre-designed CorelDRAW project templates.
Step 5: Preview and Import Assets
Once your search results are displayed:
- Use the Zoom slider at the bottom of the panel to adjust thumbnail sizes for easier browsing.
- Select an asset to view its file information, dimensions, and metadata in the inspection pane.
- To use an item, drag and drop it directly from the CorelCONNECT panel onto your CorelDRAW drawing page, or drag it into the Tray at the bottom to store it for future use across multiple sessions.
