How to Sample Colors Outside CorelDRAW
Sampling colors from external screen areas in CorelDRAW allows you to capture exact color values from websites, reference images, or other software without needing to take screenshots and import them into your workspace. By utilizing the built-in Color Eyedropper tool, you can seamlessly pick any pixel directly from your desktop monitor to apply to your vectors or save to your color palettes.
Step-by-Step Instructions to Sample External Colors
Arrange Your Windows: Resize your CorelDRAW window or position it so that the external screen area (such as a web browser or image viewer) containing the target color is visible on your monitor.
Select the Color Eyedropper Tool: In the toolbox on the left side of the CorelDRAW interface, locate and select the Color Eyedropper tool. Alternatively, you can use the eyedropper icon located inside the Object Properties docker, the Color docker, or any fill dialog window.
Click and Drag Outside the Window: Click and hold your left mouse button anywhere inside the CorelDRAW drawing window. While continuing to hold the mouse button down, drag the cursor outside of the CorelDRAW application window onto the external area of your screen where the desired color is located.
Release to Capture: Hover the cursor directly over the pixel you wish to capture. Release the left mouse button. CorelDRAW will sample the exact RGB color value beneath the cursor.
Apply or Save the Color:
- Once released, the cursor changes to a paint bucket icon. Click on any vector shape to apply the sampled color as a fill, or click the outline of an object to apply it as an outline color.
- The sampled color is automatically added to your Document Palette at the bottom of the screen for future use throughout your project.
