How to Resolve Comments in CorelDRAW
Collaborating on design projects often requires incorporating feedback from clients and team members without interrupting your design flow. This guide explains how to view, address, and resolve reviewer comments directly inside the CorelDRAW workspace using the built-in Comments docker, allowing you to track revisions seamlessly and keep your project organized.
Step 1: Open the Comments Docker
To view feedback submitted through CorelDRAW.app or shared cloud files, you must first display the Comments panel:
- Open your document in CorelDRAW.
- Go to the top menu and select Window > Dockers (or Inspectors on macOS).
- Check Comments to open the panel on the right side of your workspace.
Step 2: Navigate and Review Feedback
Once the docker is open, all comments and annotations left by collaborators will appear in a chronological list:
- Locate Annotations: Click any comment in the list to automatically navigate to the associated page and highlight the relevant design element, sticky note, or mark-up shape.
- Inspect Markup: Review the pins, highlighters, or freehand drawings placed by reviewers directly over your vector artwork.
Step 3: Address or Reply to Comments
Before marking a task as complete, you can communicate with reviewers to confirm details:
- Click on the comment thread you wish to respond to.
- Type your response in the Add a reply field at the bottom of the thread.
- Click the Send button (paper airplane icon) to post your reply. This keeps a clear record of communication tied directly to the specific graphic element.
Step 4: Mark Comments as Resolved
After making the requested design adjustments on your canvas:
- Hover over the comment or thread in the Comments docker.
- Click the Options icon (represented by an ellipsis or checkmark, depending on your version) next to the comment.
- Select Resolve (or click the Resolve checkmark button).
Marking a comment as resolved grays it out or removes it from the active view, signaling that the required design change has been executed.
Step 5: Filter and Manage the Workspace
To maintain a clutter-free design environment:
- Use the Filter icon at the top of the Comments docker to switch between All Comments, Open, and Resolved.
- Hide resolved items to focus solely on outstanding design tasks.
- Save and sync your file to Corel Cloud so that external reviewers immediately see the resolved status and replies in their web browser or application.
