How to Export Custom Workspace in CorelDRAW

Exporting a custom workspace in CorelDRAW allows you to back up your personalized toolbars, shortcut keys, dockers, and menu arrangements, or transfer them seamlessly to another computer. This guide provides a straightforward, step-by-step walkthrough to help you package your workspace configuration into a shareable file format in modern versions of CorelDRAW.

Steps to Export Your Workspace

  1. Open the Options Dialog: Launch CorelDRAW and navigate to the top menu. Click on Tools, then select Options, and choose Workspace (or press Ctrl + J and click on Workspace).

  2. Select Your Workspace: In the Workspace list, locate and highlight the custom workspace profile you want to save. Ensure it is not the locked default workspace.

  3. Click Export: Below or adjacent to the workspace list, click the Export button. A dialog window will appear displaying the export options.

  4. Select Workspace Items: Choose the specific components you want to include in the exported file. You can check or uncheck individual items, such as:

    • Toolbars: Custom placements and tool groupings.
    • Menus: Personalized menu structures.
    • Shortcuts: Custom accelerator keys.
    • Status Bar: Layout of the status bar.
    • Application Controls: Window docking and general UI behaviors.
  5. Name the Workspace: Click Next and enter a name and optional description for the exported configuration so it is easy to identify later.

  6. Save the File: Click Save. Browse to your desired location, name the file, and click Save again. CorelDRAW saves the workspace configuration as a .cdws file.
