Collect Live Reviewer Feedback in CorelDRAW
This guide explains how to gather and manage live feedback on your design projects using CorelDRAW’s cloud collaboration tools. By leveraging CorelDRAW.app and the integrated Comments docker, designers can invite clients and team members to review work, leave annotated comments in a web browser, and sync revisions in real time without endless email threads or multiple exported PDF proofs.
1. Save and Share Your File to the Cloud
To begin the review process, you must save your design to the Corel Cloud:
- Open your document in the desktop version of CorelDRAW.
- Go to File > Save to Cloud (or select the Cloud icon on the toolbar).
- Once the file uploads, open the Comments docker by navigating to Window > Dockers > Comments (or Window > Inspectors > Comments on macOS).
- Click the Share button in the Comments docker or choose File > Share.
- Set access permissions. You can invite specific reviewers via email addresses with defined roles (Viewer or Reviewer) or create a shareable link that allows anyone with the URL to view and comment.
2. Reviewer Participation via Web Browser
Reviewers do not need to install CorelDRAW or possess a paid license to review documents:
- The reviewer clicks the shared link in their invitation email or web browser.
- The file opens in CorelDRAW.app inside their browser.
- Reviewers can log in with a free Corel account or proceed as a guest, depending on the permissions you set.
- Using the toolbar in the browser interface, reviewers can drop contextual pins, draw freehand shapes with the highlighter/pen tools, draw bounding boxes around specific elements, and type detailed text notes.
3. Review and Address Feedback in Real Time
As feedback is submitted in the browser, it updates directly inside your CorelDRAW desktop workspace:
- Instant Syncing: The Comments docker in CorelDRAW updates dynamically, displaying incoming annotations, timestamps, and reviewer names.
- Contextual Navigation: Clicking on any comment in the list instantly zooms and pans your workspace to the exact location of the markup on the canvas.
- Interactive Collaboration: You can reply directly to specific comments to request clarification, assign tasks, or mark notes as resolved.
- Status Updates: Mark completed items with a checkmark to hide resolved items and keep the active task list focused.
Once all revisions are complete, you can generate updated versions to the same cloud link, ensuring all stakeholders always view the most current draft of your project.
