The Render Queue panel will automatically open at the bottom of your workspace, displaying your composition as a queued item.
Step 2: Configure Render Settings
Click the blue text next to Render Settings (default is typically "Best Settings") to open the configuration window:

- Format: Select your desired container from the dropdown menu (e.g., QuickTime is standard for high-quality ProRes exports).
- Format Options: Click this button under the Video Output section to choose your specific video codec (such as Apple ProRes 422 or Apple ProRes 4444 if you need an alpha channel/transparency).
- Channels: Keep set to RGB for standard video, or change to RGB + Alpha if you are exporting a graphic with a transparent background.
- Audio Output: Ensure this is checked and set to Audio Output Auto or Audio Output On if your project contains sound.
- Click OK to confirm.
Step 4: Choose the Output Destination and File Name
- Click the blue text next to Output To.
- In the file browser window, navigate to the folder where you want to save your exported video.
- Enter a name for your file in the File name field.
- Click Save.
Step 5: Start the Render
Once all settings are configured, click the Render button located in the top-right corner of the Render Queue panel. A progress bar will appear, and After Effects will play a chime sound once the export is complete.
